>Our meds keep going UP but income doesn't.< Mine keep switching to generic and the price comes DOWN. There are a lot of different meds to treat the same condition in most cases and most doctors are blissfully unaware of what their prescriptions cost unless somebody (usually a pharmacy benefit manager) tells them what's too expensive. I used to have to take three 40 mg pills a day (one in the morning and two at night) until my PBM told her that a 40 mg in the morning and an 80 mg in the evening. Pharmacy prices vary all over the place. When I had to find the cheapest on my own (now I have a pharmacy benefit plan accepted by the great majority of pharmacies and you get the same price at any of them), I found the same med ranging from $11 to $50. What was the kicker was the most expensive had a name ending in "Discount Drugs." I'd hate to see what they charged if they didn't discount them!
